KATE McNEECE

As Program Associate for the Genocide Prevention Project, Kate is working on the first Genocide Prevention Month, uniting commemoration ceremonies across the world with grassroots advocacy to call for a meaningful genocide prevention framework. She also manages Genocide Prevention Project’s web site.

Kate comes to the Genocide Prevention Project from the successful Dream for Darfur campaign, during which she organized the Alternative Opening Ceremony and helped produce and market the Darfur Olympics webcasts. Prior to joining Dream for Darfur, she worked as a development consultant to arts organizations including the National Theatre (UK) and the Film Society of Lincoln Center.

Kate graduated from Yale University in 2007 with a degree in economics. As the business manager of the A Different Drum Dance Company at Yale, she implemented an alumni fundraising network in addition to performing with and choreographing for the company. She was a member of the Yale Dramatic Association and an associate editor of the Yale Economic Review.

In 2007 Kate adapted a term paper into an original musical. She and her co-writers received a Sudler Fund grant to produce The Viking Conspirator; she also directed, designed, and starred in the production.
