APRIL is Genocide Prevention Month
Advocates for genocide prevention will come together in April 2009 to call for world leaders to prevent mass atrocities.
Genocide Prevention Month will send a powerful message to world leaders that they should take meaningful steps to prevent another Holocaust, Rwanda, Cambodia, Srebrenica, or Darfur. - The history of genocide and mass atrocities

- Become a part of the Genocide Prevention Month community by signing up to receive action alerts and news
- Spread the word on Myspace and Facebook—and invite your friends to take part too
- Read books and watch films that deal with genocide, and share them with friends and family
- Encourage your local school district to implement a genocide curriculum
- Share information about genocide with your friends, family, and community
- Organize in your community
- Plan a commemoration event or find one in your area
- Advocate for meaningful genocide prevention at all levels
